Art Moves Community Festival 2026: Bringing Art into the Heart of Kerrisdale
Something new is coming to Kerrisdale this fall. On September 12, 2026, the community will welcome Art Moves Community Festival, a new community arts festival taking place alongside Kerrisdale Day. Organized by Youth Initiative Vancouver (YIV) in collaboration with the Academy of Modern Art (AOMA), Art Moves brings together art, creativity, live performance, and cultural exchange throughout Kerrisdale.

Organizers:
Youth Initiative Vancouver (YIV) is a registered nonprofit organization focused on youth empowerment, education, and community engagement. Through programs including its free Peer-Tutoring Program and the international Canada Youth Visual Art Contest, YIV promotes learning, creativity, and cultural exchange while making a positive impact on young people, families, and communities.
Academy of Modern Art (AOMA) has been rooted in Kerrisdale for the past ten years, offering visual arts education for children, youth, and adults. Its faculty includes university professors, professional artists, designers, and master artists, bringing a high level of expertise to its programs. AOMA also supports students pursuing creative pathways through portfolio development, academic planning, and university applications, with a strong track record of helping students gain admissions to leading universities and programs. 2026 marks AOMA’s 10th anniversary, adding a special milestone to this year’s festival.
